There are seasons when the generosity of the earth, which supports us at all times, is made more manifest than at others. Our life cannot be endlessly summer, but even in winter she provides us air to breathe and water to drink and food stored from the summer. Even in the winter the dark sky carries the bright stars above our protective atmosphere, and the moon sways the deep ocean’s tides.
There are seasons of doubt, and seasons of comfort; seasons of plenty, and seasons of want. Our inner seasons may not correspond with those around us. But the cycle of the world’s seasons remind us that nothing lasts forever; that all is change; and that the Goddess cares for us in all our seasons.
